About Me
My name is Tanice, and I want to start off by congratulating you on taking this first step towards making yourself a priority in your life. Does it feel like the wind has been knocked out of you the moment that you realize you are doing your best and still feel like you are in quicksand? You ever wish that when someone mentions “how are you?”, that you could take a deep breath and speak from the depths of yourself and just breathe every single feeling you are experiencing to the person who asked? …In a moment… for just one moment…can time be still, can a human mirror help navigate these feelings, emotions, thoughts, experiences, all attention on you without feeling coddled, without judgement in a virtual space of simplicity, authenticity, and warmth?…This why you are here… to seek guidance, and engage in collaborative work with a Toronto Psychotherapist like myself. No matter how you feel in this moment, about this decision…As a therapist, I am here to meet you where you are in your journey.
My educational & experiential background: I have an honours degree in Psychology, Masters Degree in Social work, and currently a PhD candidate in the field of social work. In relation to my experience in the field, I have been working directly with clients requiring support and guidance in social services for over 20 years in various sectors.
Land Acknowledgement
I wish to acknowledge this land of which LTTL Management Services operates. I acknowledge the land I am on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
I also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Toronto is still considered home, to many people representative of indigenous communities, such as Turtle Island, and I am grateful and appreciative to be able to practice and be present on this land.
